The design brief was simple - Minimise speed wobble and provide the rider with a precision steering system. For this we give special thanks to Mr Mark Daniels (formerly of Kitedeck and DE- X) for creating this small but incredible product known as the "Trampa Dampa"!!
The now famous "Trampa Dampa" has been around for quite some time and has proven to be an essential performance part when creating a high spec ATB (all Terrain Board) deck allowing riders to custom tune their boards turning and steering ability far greater than ever before.
The Trampa Dampa is a Urethane elastomer which fits inside the spring of a truck. Its purpose is to give extra resistance and support the spring during steering. Its design has 3 balls stacked and connected on-top of each other with the middle ball being slightly fatter than the outer 2. This clever design gives a more harmonious and progressive feel to steering and stability in straight line speeds
By varying the strength of the Urethane mixture allows us to control the resistance or the flex of the Dampa which in turn allows the rider to custom tune the resistance of the steering .
The spheres of the Dampa fit perfectly into the cup of the specially made Trampa spring retainers and they instantly start to work with the slightest of movement from the rider. Using three spheres allowed for a harder urethane to be used. The middle sphere is slightly larger and consequently
Available now in 7 different steering resistance's for every weight or level of rider out there.

The Dampa is surrounded by the spring and enclosed by the specially designed and snug fitting Trampa spring retainers. The 3 spheres of the Dampa, are stacked on top of each other and when the correct setup is applied they each work in progressive harmony with the rider, supplying the perfect amount of steering resistance whilst eliminating all chances of speed wobble.... Nothing else feels like the original....
The Trampa Dampa's are perfect in length and width to slide in and out of the spring easily. The Dampas are then sealed into position by the retainers. Once fitted with the retainers the spring unit can be then be slipped into and out of position very easily by hand, (no clamps required!!) making changing the dampa's extremely simple and easy to do.
The TRAMPA DAMPA is a Urethane Elastomer that fits inside the Spring of a Truck. Its purpose is to support the Spring & give extra resistance during steering. Its clever design has three balls stacked & connected on-top of each other. The middle ball is slightly fatter than the outer two, during steering they all compress against each other giving greater feed back in your turns. This stacked design gives a fantastic progressive feel to steering.
By varying the SHORE DUROMETER (Rubber Hardness) strength of the Urethane mixture, we can control the amout of movement in the DAMPA. This in turn allows the rider to custom tune the resistance of their steering perfect to their requirements. The spheres of the DAMPA fit perfectly into the cup of the specially made TRAMPA SPRING RETAINER which is the part that locates & locks the Spring in the the TRAMPA SPRING TRUCKS, and they instantly start to work with the slightest movement from the rider. TRAMPA DAMPA's work in harmony with the rider, supplying the perfect amount of steering resistance whilst eliminating all chances of speed wobble. Now available in 5 different steering resistance's for all levels of rider out there, Yellow DAMPA's are for easy steering, whilst White DAMPA's are for the totally committed!
Turning the Spring Adjuster clockwise pre-loads the tension in the Spring and Dampa. This can be adjusted on the fly to suit the terrain & conditions. Turning the spring adjuster too much will put pressure on the Dampa & eventually it may split. Rather than putting too much pressure into the Dampa, consider up-grading the Dampa to a harderShore Durometer as this will most likely increase your perfomace than overtightening a Dampa thats not stiff enough for you.
